At Electra, we're on a mission to reinvent iron production and reduce the global carbon footprint generated by steelmaking, which accounts for almost 10% of CO2 emissions. As a Process Scientist I, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic Process Metallurgy team, based in Boulder, Colorado. Your main focus will be on developing innovative flowsheets and refining process steps to convert iron ore into purified solutions for electroplating. In your role, you will spend a majority of your time in the lab, conducting exciting experiments and characterizing various products and raw materials. Imagine being part of a team thriving on collaboration, disruption, and the shared goal of forging a greener future! You will engage in bench-scale experiments, perform routine chemical analyses, and analyze lab data to support your findings. Highlights of your responsibilities include summarizing experimental results for team discussions and maintaining a laboratory that adheres to safety protocols. With a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field, and hands-on experience in a lab, you will bring your attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and an analytical mindset to the team.
