This notice is being posted in connection with the filing of an application for certification. Any person may provide documentary evidence bearing on the application to the Certifying Officer of the Department of Labor at the following address:

Requirements:

 

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 4 years of experience in leading the design and development of high efficiency washing machine cycle systems and/or sub-assemblies related to thermodynamic and fluid mechanics fabric care features across multiple product architectures.
  • Experience must include: Utilizing Six Sigma, SCRUM, and Agile engineering methodologies to develop new or improved washing cycles for high-efficiency laundry appliances that meet functionality, performance, energy, and regulatory targets.
  • Applying algebraic modeling and thermodynamic optimization principles to design systems using MatLab.
  • Developing control algorithms for washing cycles for washing machines, using Model Based Design (MBD) with MATLAB, Simulink and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP).
  • Utilizing JMP software to apply Design of Experiment statistical methodology to design optimization projects. 
  • Six Sigma Certification required (submit a copy with application).

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Lead the design and development of high efficiency washing machine cycle systems and/or sub-assemblies related to thermodynamic and fluid mechanics fabric care features across multiple product architectures.
  • Research and analyze the physics of cleaning and rinsing clothing and apply those principles to the development of new cycles.
  • Deliver innovative proposals with potential for intellectual property. Develop product functionalities related to washing technologies and textiles.
  • Develop control algorithms for washing and drying cycles for washing machines, tumble dryers and dish washers, using Model Based Design (MBD) with MATLAB, Simulink and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP).  Apply algebraic modeling and thermodynamic optimization principles to design systems using MatLab.
  • Utilize programming languages to develop automated laundry appliance cycle routines and features in LabView and MATLAB software.
  • Utilize Six Sigma, SCRUM, and Agile engineering methodologies to develop new or improved washing and drying cycles for high-efficiency laundry appliances that meet functionality, performance, energy, and regulatory targets.
  • Conduct quality assurance research using Six Sigma methodologies that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of laundry appliance components and washer cycles.
  • Utilize JMP software to apply Design of Experiment statistical methodology to design optimization projects. Develop quality improvement projects that minimize service call rate. 
  • Work closely with a global technical team to ensure all interactions   with software, mechanical, and electrical components are integrated into the functional development. 
  • Coordinate testing and data analysis of test reports or lab journals and present findings to the R&D team. Develop competitive product claims via statistical methods that leverage technical design aspects.
  • Use consumer insights and feedback to make relevant design decisions.
