Laboratory Analyst (Polarized Light Microscopy) - Eurofins Built Environment East - Cary, NC

Eurofins CEI, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in Cary, NC. The Analyst will do asbestos testing using polarized light microscopes (PLM).

The Analyst prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology in compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s. The analyst also validates and reviews data for accuracy, and uploads laboratory data into the LIMS that ultimately generates required reports to clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Organize and record samples
• Data entry into LIMS
• Prepare samples for analysis
• Analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples
• Analysis of air samples using PCM and PLM for asbestos and other fibers
• Maintenance of the department and lab, including stocking supplies and housekeeping
• Phone and email correspondence with clients
• Assist with customer services when needed
• Data entry of QC activities in departments
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or similar science

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Environmental methodologies
• General regulatory requirements
• Analytical laboratory techniques
• Laboratory QA requirements
• Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitude in a fast paced working environment.

Requirements:

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Candidates within commutable distance of our Cary, NC laboratory are eligible to apply. This is a full time role, first shift (8:30 am - 5:00 pm) Monday - Friday. 

Pay Range: $18-20/hr

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
