Controller

Excel Sports Management is a premier sports agency focused on innovation and diverse collaboration. We seek a Controller to partner strategically with the CFO to oversee financial operations, compliance, and team management, supporting the company’s growth initiatives including M&A activities.

Skills

Thorough knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
Proficiency with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to implement and optimize financial processes and systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide strong accounting and financial leadership to inform strategic initiatives and ensure integrity of financial statements.
Manage monthly close process, GAAP financial reporting, GL intercompany and consolidations.
Oversee tax compliance and liaise with external tax preparers for timely and accurate filings.
Coordinate annual financial audits and serve as primary contact for external auditors.
Oversee ERP system management for asset, liability, and transaction accuracy.
Develop long-term financial systems vision and continuous improvement strategies.
Manage, mentor, hire, and motivate accounting team members.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
CPA certification preferred.

Benefits

Competitive salary range of $170,000 - $190,000 yearly.
