Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer - Personalization

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace focused on empowering local independent retailers globally through machine learning and data-driven insights. They are looking for a data scientist or machine learning engineer specialized in personalization to help build algorithmic solutions that enable small businesses to compete with giants like Amazon.

Skills

Experience applying machine learning to real-world personalization or recommendation problems.
Proficiency in ML/DL modeling and programming.
Familiarity with recommendation algorithms and personalization systems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy personalized recommendation algorithms across various platform surfaces including homepage, category and brand pages.
Implement retrieval embeddings, streaming signals, deep learning or LLM-based ranking/recommendation models.
Work on explore-exploit strategies and diversification techniques in recommendation systems.
Collaborate closely with a skilled team of data scientists and engineers to enhance the discovery experience for local retailers and brands.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related STEM field.
