  • Manage US employment-related disputes, litigation, arbitration, and administrative actions, including managing outside counsel on matters requiring law firm support
  • Partner with the Legal and People Teams to evolve and drive compliance with applicable labor and employment laws
  • Manage a small international team and outside counsel engagement across all employment law matters
  • Propose, evolve, and enable, in consultation with the People team, updates or new employee policies, procedures and trainings and advise on their implementation, application and enforcement
  • Manage employment and contractor related template agreements
  • Stay current on changing employment laws and advise the People team on all necessary policy and practice modifications, including providing the People team regular updates and training on legal developments

What We're Looking For:

  • JD degree with strong academic credentials and admission to practice law in California
  • 12+ years of combined employment law experience, including law firm practice and at least 4 years of in-house legal experience, especially at high-growth tech companies
  • At least two years of experience managing an effective team
  • Robust experience independently counseling senior executives and People teams on complex day-to-day employment issues
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience managing disputes, litigation, arbitration, administrative actions and outside counsel
  • Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Excellent judgment in raising issues and ability to assess risks and convey clear and decisive advice to internal teams
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • A pragmatic and practical approach to problem solving and getting things done
  • Ability to work independently and comfort working with distributed teams
  • Leadership depth and ability to contribute to the overall Legal organization’s strategy and priorities

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Experience with compensation and benefits programs for public companies, including equity plans and executive compensation
