Job Description

The Head of Content is to lead and develop Fastmarkets content team and will be responsible for overseeing the creation of compelling, high-quality and multi-channel content that drives engagement, strengthens our brand positioning, supports lead generation and customer retention efforts. This role requires an experienced content leader with a passion for producing a variety of content formats – including whitepapers, webinars, podcasts, infographics, copy and sales collateral. The Head of Content will manage a team of 5+, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product, editorial and tech. 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Content Strategy and Leadership: 

  • Lead the content production function, working with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute a content strategy aligned with Fastmarkets’ business objectives. 
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of a wide variety of content types (white papers, webinars, podcasts, digital artwork, and written copy) that engage and inform Fastmarkets’ target audience. 
  • Identify content opportunities and trends, leveraging insights to evolve the content production strategy. 
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the content production team. 

Team Management and Development: 

  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of content managers, copywriters, designers, and content executives. 
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to the team, ensuring high performance and collaboration. 
  • Allocate resources effectively, balancing workload and ensuring timely delivery of content. 
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards, conducting regular reviews and offering feedback. 

Content Production and Optimisation: 

  • Ensure all content is of the highest quality, consistent with Fastmarkets’ brand voice, tone, and style. 
  • Work closely with designers to produce engaging visual content (infographics, reports, digital artwork) that complements written content. 
  • Collaborate with content managers and copywriters to ensure copy is impactful, accurate, and optimised for SEO where necessary. 
  • Oversee the planning and execution of multimedia content, such as webinars and podcasts, ensuring technical excellence and relevance to audience needs. 
  • Manage the content production process from concept through to distribution, ensuring deadlines are met and content is aligned with campaign goals. 

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: 

  • Work with marketing, sales, and product teams to align content with campaign objectives, product launches, and customer needs. 
  • Liaise with external agencies and freelance talent as needed, ensuring the highest standards of quality and communication. 
  • Ensure cross-functional teams are aware of and can utilise content to support their initiatives. 

Performance Tracking and Continuous Improvement: 

  • Analyse content performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of content initiatives and inform future strategy. 
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, ensuring Fastmarkets stays ahead of content marketing trends. 
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve processes, tools, and workflows to optimise the team’s efficiency and impact.

Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly. 

  • 5+ years of experience in a production management, project management, or traffic management role within a marketing, design, or content-focused team. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and balancing competing priorities. 
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello, or similar tools) and a proven ability to implement processes that streamline production workflows. 
  • Strong understanding of design and content production processes across both digital and print mediums. 
  • Experience collaborating with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to understand project requirements and manage timelines. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure transparency across departments. 
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to quality control and ensuring that deliverables meet brand guidelines and project briefs. 
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and agencies for outsourced design or production work. 
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, solve problems under pressure, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. 
  • Desirable Skills: 
  • Experience in a marketing or creative agency environment, managing the production of multiple concurrent campaigns. 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) to help facilitate clear communication with design teams. 
  • Experience working within B2B industries or in a publishing/media context. 
  • Budget management experience, including cost tracking and vendor negotiation.
