Childcare Education & Development Specialist

Preschool Education & Development Specialist | Hybrid

The Education Specialist plays a critical role in supporting our early childhood education centers, focusing on quality initiatives, instructional best practices, and educational professional development for Center Program Managers at our preschools in NC and SC.

Travel:
80%-90% travel required, with at least 80% of work performed onsite at centers. Centers are currently located in North Carolina and South Carolina. Occasional evening and weekend commitments may also be required to support training sessions or special projects. Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
(commensurate with experience and qualifications). Compensation package includes car allowance, travel expenses, company cell phone, and laptop.

Highlights of Position Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Documentation:

  • Set and track short- and long-term professional and program goals for quality improvement.
  • Submit timely reports, including daily summaries, action plans, and expense statements.


Curriculum Implementation and Support:

  • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate STEAM activities that align with curriculum standards.
  • Support center professionals and Program Managers in integrating hands-on STEAM learning opportunities that encourage exploration, critical thinking, and creativity in the classroom.
  • Support Program Managers with the completion and effective implementation of classroom lesson plans, supporting teachers in developing engaging, educational environments.
  • Conduct regular observations and develop growth plans as necessary.


Professional Development:

  • Assist in the hiring and onboarding of Program Managers with tailored professional development plans.
  • Track performance and facilitate continuous learning to foster professional growth.
  • Meet regularly with center leadership to assess educational needs and recommend solutions.


Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner with Regional Directors to foster a positive and motivated workforce.
  • Work closely with leadership to align coaching and curriculum strategies with organizational goals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with teachers, families, and community stakeholders to support success of centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience acceptable.
  • NC/SC Qualifying Letter and certifications in Child/Infant CPR and First Aid.
  • Two to five years of experience in a licensed childcare facility, with at least two years in a management or leadership role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and local childcare regulations, CDC guidelines, and in-service requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and work collaboratively.
