Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented Management Accountant in Fruugo’s Finance team. You will jointly lead the month-end close and be responsible for producing timely and high quality financial information, with the opportunity to support transformational change.You will report into the Financial Controller and work closely with the Finance Director, other members of Finance and the wider-Fruugo business

The Main Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for the month-end close, including preparation of monthly management accounts and detailed P&L and Balance Sheet analysis
  • Supporting the development and implementation of effective, efficient, and scalable processes, driving automation where possible
  • Responsible for prepayments and accruals, maintaining the fixed assets register, returns provisioning, monthly chargebacks, disputes analysis and reconciliation, commission reconciliations and reserve revaluations and reconciliations
  • Responsible for Balance Sheet and Control Account reconciliations and review
  • Administration of the accounting system (currently Sage 50)
  • Assisting with audit and year-end routines
  • Preparation and review of other key financial reports, and assisting the Financial Controller in  providing financial information to the business and its stakeholders

Key Skills

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or significantly QBE
  • Significant experience of preparing accounts for medium/large companies, including consolidation of multi-currency Group entities
  • Proven ability to identify and implement systems and processes to improve the month-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience with Sage 50 and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (particularly VLOOKUP and pivot table experience)
  • Ability to manage and investigate variances across complex reconciliation processes and control accounts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain and report complex matters in a clear simple way
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI (or similar) experience would be desirable
  • Hours of work are 35 hours per week - including an early 2pm finish on a Friday!
