Fullmind was founded a decade ago with the mission of assisting two New York schools in serving their most vulnerable students: homebound students with behavioral challenges and medically fragile children. Fullmind is looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis passionate about K-12 education. Our organization has seen dramatic growth and now needs to up-level its accounting and financial planning processes and systems. We seek a proactive leader excited by balancing detail-oriented tasks with strategic oversight, contributing to both the financial health and future success of our growing organization.

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will manage and up-level our accounting processes, including multi-entity consolidations, revenue recognition, and compliance with GAAP standards. They will ensure regulatory compliance, provide strategic financial insights, and support long-term business planning through data analysis and financial modeling.

With advanced technical expertise in areas like ERP systems and tax strategies, this individual will also foster cross-departmental collaboration and contribute innovative solutions to organizational challenges.

Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards.
  • Financial Analysis: Drive the preparation and analysis of accurate financial reports, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closings.
  • Executive Communication and Strategic Inputs: Meaningfully contributes to conversations around the business plan and future scenario forecasting for the company; viewed as a thought-partner to the business on key decisions
  • Establish and Maintain Robust Internal Controls: Safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Lead the implementation and upgrade financial workflows.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger, and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations (bank, payroll, vendor accounts, etc.) to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and assist with the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Manage a Team of Contractors: Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements and company standards.
  • Dynamic and Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates a strong willingness to embrace change and a strong desire for continuous learning
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP or IFRS, including technical accounting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • 4+ years accounting experience relevant to technology, start ups, education, and/or SAAS companies (oil and gas, energy)
