We are seeking a Sr. Industrial Hygienist to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Analyze workplaces to identify potential health risks and reduce exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
Prevent illness, injury, and stressors at workplaces.
Perform project oversight inspections.
Perform hazard assessments.
Manage accident/injury investigations.
Review safety documents.
Attend various project meetings.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and 20+ years of relevant experience, with priority to those providing workplace safety measures in a large-scale industrial environment.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Must have experience identifying potential health risks
Must have experience reducing exposure to physical, chemical and biological hazards.
Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and work in hot/cold environments.
Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.
Desired Skills
Experience in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) environment.
An active DOE "Q" security clearance, however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.

The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
