Staff Backend Engineer - Loki Query (Remote, USA)

Grafana Labs offers a composable observability platform integrating best open source tools. They seek a motivated Staff Backend Engineer experienced with distributed databases and cloud systems to join their remote-first team, contributing to key telemetry projects including Loki and Mimir.

Skills

Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go preferred)
Experience delivering projects independently from requirements to shipping
Familiarity with cloud software development or systems engineering
Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable code
Strong communication skills for remote collaboration

Responsibilities

Influence product roadmap and define career objectives
Collaborate to deliver new features and iterate based on feedback
Drive projects from ideation to operational deployment
Contribute to open-source projects beyond core team scope
Design, build, operate, and maintain critical distributed systems
Participate in on-call rotations and take service ownership
Mentor team members and engage in design discussions
Continuously learn about large distributed systems and cloud products
