Founding Data Scientist (Causal Inference)

Early-stage investment of ours is looking to hire a Founding Data Scientist with a strong background in statistical analysis and causal inference who has a proven track record influencing and working with both technical and non-technical teams. Since this is an early-stage opportunity, our ideal candidate will be able to champion and drive DS efforts within the company.Core Responsibilities:• Collect, discover, clean, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources across customers• Deploy your understanding of customer data to provide input and support to internal partners across the organization• Visualize and present insights to customers in order to help them better understand the value of this company's offering as well as to get their feedback on how to improve it• Leverage customer data to design and build core ranking and prioritization algorithms• Identify and create features that can be used to prioritize and make recommendations on key questions related to the product's workflow• Help to identify which inferred traits are necessary for inclusion into the knowledge base, to establish how to calculate the confidence levels of those inferred traits, and to implement the extraction of those inferred traits• Work with ML / Applied AI engineers to productionize the above• Onboard, support and up-level future team members focused on data science and beyond• Actively contribute to data normalization, result quality, and recruiting initiativesQualifications:• MS or PhD with 7+ years industry experience in DS with large, highly-complex datasets and a good background in causal inference• Related focus areas: Social Networks, User Behavior Modeling, Quantitative Research, Operations Research (global taxonomies), Industrial Engineering, Marketplace Dynamics, Sentiment Analysis, etc.About Us:Greylock is an early-stage investor in hundreds of remarkable companies including Airbnb, LinkedIn, Dropbox, Workday, Cloudera, Facebook, Instagram, Roblox, Coinbase, Palo Alto Networks, among others.
