Assistant Professor, Music and Director of Athletic Bands
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Masters degree in music; Doctorate in Music preferred.
- Experience as an athletic band director or assistant director, preferably at the university level
- Experience teaching at the college/university level
- Evidence of a program of creative works or scholarship
- Effective communication, leadership, and team building skills
- Evidence of a student-centered approach to education
- Collaborator and team player who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a 10-month position with summer duties related to activities connected to Director of Athletic Bands, particularly in recruitment
- Serve as Director of Athletic Bands with emphasis on program growth
- Teach two undergraduate courses each semester (8 credits adjusted) related to the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Participate in departmental and university service
- Student advising and progress monitoring
