Staff Software Engineer - Core Platform (Ruby/Rails)

Huntress is a fully remote cybersecurity company founded by former NSA operators, protecting businesses globally with enterprise-grade SaaS solutions. They seek a Staff Software Engineer to lead development on their Core Platform, delivering high-quality software features and mentoring engineers.

Skills

Proficiency in Ruby on Rails development
Experience with Javascript
Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
Experience with Linux infrastructure
Skilled with Postgres databases
Familiarity with Hotwire, Stimulus, Turbo is a plus
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to decompose and lead full SDLC

Responsibilities

Manage technical development aspects for Portal features including UX/UI
Lead software design, development, and architecture setting team standards
Translate acceptance criteria into workflows, data models, and software design
Provide architectural and technical leadership for the team
Oversee system life cycle including evolution, configuration, and risk management
Ensure code quality and test coverage via reviews
Lead accurate project estimations and ensure timely delivery
Mentor and coach junior engineers fostering professional growth
Promote team motivation, collaboration, and engagement
Act as a positive role model and actively engage with the team

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (implied)
