Product Designer (Freelance)

Position Overview:

Indagare is seeking a freelance Product Designer to join our Technology team. The Product Designer will bring their UX/UI skills to build innovative, brand-forward digital platforms for our members and internal staff. This will be a 3-6 month role to start with the possibility of extending with an approximate time commitment of 30 hours per week. 

The Product Designer will play an important role in crafting the overall experience of the Indagare digital platform, encompassing the website, internal tools and future iOS application, to ensure they are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with both user needs and business objectives. Additionally, the Product Designer will conduct user testing and explore design possibilities for upcoming features, contributing valuable insights to enhance the Indagare.com experience. Furthermore, the Product Designer will maintain and update the style guide to ensure consistency across all digital assets.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist our Creative Team in designing solutions with a simple, delightful, engaging user experience that accomplishes business goals, aligns with our brand and works well with our technology
  • Partner closely with Creative, Product and Engineering to translate user goals into elegant designs for both external customers and internal staff
  • Develop user flows and wireframes for new product features
  • Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes for user testing
  • Develop style guide and translate visual designs into Product ready Figma files
  • Employ UCD methodologies to incorporate qualitative and quantitative feedback 
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure product design is implemented correctly
  • Understand and balance user needs, technical capabilities and business objectives 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer-focused digital products and working with product teams
  • Experience in visual design, interactive design, and user experience
  • Understanding of web and mobile best practices, design standards, and latest trends
  • Facility with UCD methodologies and usability principles
  • Online portfolio demonstrating command of visual design across platforms (web, mobile, app) and detailed spec & style guides
  • Understanding of how design impacts development and the ability to create dynamic engaging sites
  • Experience working in a lean, dynamic startup culture preferred 
  • Some experience in a remote working environment is advantageous
