Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Invisible Technologies partners with leading AI foundation model providers, enterprises, and governments to operationalize AI at scale. They seek a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead design and implementation of AI-powered backend solutions, working closely with clients and internal teams in a hybrid role combining engineering, architecture, and advisory responsibilities.

Skills

5+ years software engineering experience with backend, data or ML systems
Proficient in Python and experience with ML/LLM frameworks like Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI, Pinecone
Familiarity with full-stack or API deployment including Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS
Strong product and system design skills translating business needs into technical solutions
Experience dealing with ambiguous data and requirements to build usable systems
Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
Project ownership from scoping through deployment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
Willingness to be on-call and travel 25-50% primarily across North America

Responsibilities

Partner with delivery and executive stakeholders to scope, design, and lead AI-driven solutions
Identify transformational opportunities in complex workflows and develop repeatable systems
Lead architecture design focusing on performance, scalability, cost, and reliability trade-offs
Manage projects from discovery through deployment including client-facing delivery and post-launch iteration
Develop shared infrastructure, reusable components, and internal playbooks to elevate the team
Coach and mentor mid-level engineers, shaping the forward-deployed AI engineering culture

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science or related field OR equivalent professional experience
