Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant (USA experience required) - Remote (EST Hours)
ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa is a global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company partnering with a USA-based client in the healthcare sector.
We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant, with experience working for a USA-based company, who is familiar with USA accounting standards and practices and has hands-on experience with USA software's such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Stampli (or similar invoice processing software).
***Proven experience working in an accounting role for a USA-based company, must be clearly indicated on CV.***
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- Working Hours: This role requires you to work USA hours, Mon - Fri, from 9am to 6pm EST time (16h00pm to 01h00am South African time - subject to change depending on daylight savings)
- Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and perform bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Process invoices and manage vendor payments using Stampli or similar invoice processing software.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and tax filings.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Work with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.
- Assist with budget tracking, expense management, and cash flow analysis.
- Ensure compliance with USA accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and reporting.
- South African Citizen (SA ID Required)
- Must have bookeeper or accounting experience, specifically with USA-based companies (please indicate clearly on your CV)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Stampli (or similar accounting/invoice processing software)
- Experience with healthcare accounting is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
