Job Summary:


As a Mechanical Engineer for JMA Wireless, you will lead mechanical design and system engineering for automation projects.  This position ensures reliable, cost effective, and on time delivery of projects that have the biggest ROI for JMA.  You will specialize in mechanical design, PFMEA, and risk assessment on all automation projects.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain mechanical design concepts for all automation projects.
  • Develop, and maintain mechanical models and drawings for use in complex automation projects (Solidworks, EPDM)
  • Work with outside vendors to provide support services to supplement internal design capabilities.
  • Anticipating and solving equipment problems in a timely manner.
  • Identification of new process, new equipment, and equipment suppliers.
  • Provide expert level support to manufacturing engineers, and technicians in investigation and troubleshooting line down situations
  • Achieve cost reduction targets on our high volume Wireless/RF products without sacrificing product quality.
  • Performs basic FEA simulations (Solidworks, Ansys)
  • Conduct project design reviews.
  • Testing mechanical properties to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Develop PFMEA and Risk assessments to mitigate problems with system designs.
  • Lead technicians during the mechanical build of equipment
  • Work with Design Engineering team for development of new equipment, or upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Coordinating with Maintenance or vendors for the installation, repair, upgrade, or removal of equipment to minimize impact to production.
  • Assisting in the identification of new processes, new equipment, and equipment suppliers.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field, with 2-plus years of relevant experience in industrial automation, or manufacturing environments.
  • OR associate degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field, with 5-plus years of relevant experience in industrial automation, or manufacturing environments.
  • SolidWorks experience is a plus.
  • EPDM experience is a plus.
  • GD&T knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to be strongly tactical while driving a clear improvement strategy.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with industrial automation background.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and concepts.

$80,000 - $85,000 a year
The US national annual base salary range for this is $80,000 - $85,000. The range includes base salary that is expected to be paid for this role. Actual base salary will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location.
