Clinical Fellow Speech and Language Pathologist (Special Education : High School Greenspring Campus)

Overview

Exciting CF opportunity to work with a team of dedicated SLPs.  Work with high school students in this specialized interdisciplinary non-public school program focused on academics and career development.   Deliver functional therapy in industries including horticulture, hospitality, construction, and others. Support our students with complex communication needs as they prepare for their next steps in life.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel to and from different locations and sites in the greater Baltimore
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to perform various keyboard functions.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job site.
  • *May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, blood pathogens, and aggressive or combative patients.
  • Qualifications

    • *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
    • *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
    • Must possess and maintain Speech-Language Pathologist – Limited License through the Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech Language Pathologists.

    EDUCATION:

    • Successful completion of a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, with related clinical requirements.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Additional course work or training in pediatric feeding/swallowing or communication disorders is beneficial.
