Research Associate I, Discovery Chemistry

Job Summary


Kimia’s Discovery Chemistry team is performing state-of-the-art high-throughput nanoliter-scale synthesis to create libraries with vast chemical diversity suitable for biological screening as a core component of our ATLAS platform. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our Discovery Chemistry team to generate compound libraries and conduct downstream purification of screening hits to support our drug discovery programs. The selected candidate is also responsible for interpreting and communicating experimental results to project teams to drive decision-making. This position offers hands-on learning opportunities and close collaboration with our scientists to drive innovative early-stage drug discovery efforts.


Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute synthesis of nanoliter chemical libraries using various liquid handling instruments.
  • Perform and interpret LCMS analyses of reaction mixtures to assess reaction yields and/or purify reaction products.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of protocols and experimental data.
  • Interpret and present research findings to multidisciplinary project teams.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field with 0-2 years of industry experience.
  • Familiarity with one or more high-throughput or parallel synthesis, LCMS, and/or automation is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, work ethics, enthusiasm to learn, attention to detail and ability to deliver timely results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.


$75,000 - $90,000 a year
The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. The final salary will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
