Senior Product Manager, Catalog

About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager - Catalog and Search to lead the development of the Kojo catalog. Our catalog is incredibly rich and complex, spanning construction trades and vendors. It is this team's mission to ensure we provide complete, accurate, up-to-date, and optimized catalogs to our internal teams and customers.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager, Catalog, you will own the ingestion, tooling, optimization, and merchandising of the Kojo catalog while creating the data structure our internal teams use to create excellent user experiences.

This role will include:

  • Owning the success of your product and acting as an influential leader within Product and Engineering teams

  • Developing a unique understanding of construction materials and our customers’ material management processes

  • Creating a forward-thinking vision for your product area that is inspiring, innovative, and will push Kojo to grow as a company

  • Cultivating a deep knowledge of our users by leveraging data to make decisions that benefit them and drive product usage

  • Collaborating with design, engineering, and marketing to build and successfully release products and features that delight our customers

  • Identifying and hiring a cross-industry merchandising team and purchasing or building tooling to support the team’s work.

  • Developing a merchandising and search strategy for item selection across clients and vendors.

  • Partnering with vendors to ingest and organize their catalogs within Kojo.

  • Leading our merchandising team, establishing standards and maintaining team metrics around velocity and quality.

About You

An influential team player who can manage ambiguity, compile insights, and design solutions will succeed in this role. You may be a great fit for this position if you have catalog or e-commerce experience and are excited to have a real-world impact.

What you’ve accomplished

  • 5+ years of experience working on SaaS products

  • Establishing a comprehensive merchandising and search strategy

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of product discovery and delivery

  • Fast learner with the desire to learn multiple functional areas of business

  • Solution oriented, using sound judgment to assess risk

  • Ability to communicate your ideas in a well-structured, data-informed way

  • Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders

  • Track record of success combining practical and conceptual thinking skills with proof of impact on a complex problem space

  • Familiarity working with catalog, e-commerce, and digital marketplaces

What you care about:

  • Innovation: You seek to understand the truth behind problems and find solutions to them

  • Customer Obsession: You care deeply about our customers and seek to understand their pain

  • Impact: You prioritize rigorously and accomplish amazing amounts of important work

  • Accountability: You are motivated by having the space to make your best judgments about what should be done and how to do it
