We aim to detect and deter waste, fraud, and abuse within the District, promoting excellence and positive change.Project Overview:The Forensic and Support Services Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising specialized auditing and investigative activities. This role involves performing professional-level forensic investigative work related to allegations of waste, fraud, and policy violations by District employees, vendors, contractors, and other entities under LAUSD's jurisdiction.Benefits:• Insurance: District-paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for you and your dependents.• Retirement: Membership in the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS).• Vacation: 24 days annually.• Paid Holidays: Up to 13 days annually.Job Duties/Responsibilities:• Supervise a unit engaged in forensic investigative and audit support work.• Manage consultants assisting with investigations, audits, and special reviews.• Perform complex forensic accounting and investigative work related to allegations of criminal activity, fraud, and improprieties within the District.• Supervise due diligence activities related to District oversight, contracting, and hiring.• Advise the Assistant Inspector General and Inspector General on fiscal matters related to investigations and audits.• Coordinate and participate in analytical studies and examinations related to the District’s operations.• Investigate and reconstruct destroyed or falsified records, trace funds, and examine bank records.• Determine compliance with District policies, procedures, and regulations.• Analyze financial evidence and prepare reports with conclusions and recommendations.• Testify in court as an expert witness in forensic accounting.Minimum Requirements:• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.• Experience: Five years of forensic accounting experience in public accounting firms, government agencies, or private industry. Supervisory experience is preferable.• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) required.
