Job description

Context

Lucca provides HRIS SaaS solutions to boost employee efficiency and engagement.

We address the main areas of administrative and HR management: time and activities, annual reviews, employee pulse surveys, expense reports, etc.

Our products are being used by more than a million people in various businesses, including the upscale Accor hotel chain and the surf brand Rip Curl, as well as in rapidly expanding international companies like Novo Nordisk, Nexthink, and Michel&Augustin.

In the realm of stern management tools, we are driven by the conviction that software should not be grey, ugly or boring. That's why we focus on the design and user experience of our products.

In 2022, Lucca celebrated its 20th anniversary and embarked on its internationalization journey by establishing subsidiaries in Barcelona and Geneva. International expansion continued with the opening of our Munich office in 2024.

In 2023, the Localization team was created to meet our global expansion requirements.

Our product software interface is currently available in 7 languages (French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese) and our Sales and Customer Success teams support our clients in 4 languages.

We aim to enhance the availability and quality of translations for software and documentation in order to provide the best user experience for our expanding client base across different countries. This is our priority as we see more clients operating globally.

Your mission

You will work in the Localization team, which is part of the International Cooperation team.

The Localization Team is composed of Emilie and Clara (localization specialists), who joined Lucca in January 2024 and December 2023, Ludivine our apprentice since October 2024, and Frédéric, our Head of Localization, who started at the end of June 2024.

With the aim of progressively improving language availability and quality at Lucca, you will bridge the gap between Lucca’s Software development teams and the Localization team. You will work on the implementation and optimization of localization workflows for both product (UI) and business content (documentation).

Here are more details about your main mission as a Localization Engineer.

👉 Optimizing the localization tool stack

- Manage the setup of our TMS (Translation Management System): API, workflows, automations, custom file parsers…

- Help with the selection, testing, training and implementation of Machine Translation (Lucca is currently focusing on human translation).

- Help with Translation Memory Management (optimization and leverage).

- Implement automation processes and tools to facilitate the day-to-day work of the localization specialists (file preparation, project tracking and translation request sheets, data extraction…)

👉 Improving the localization workflows and contributing to internationalization best practices

- Collaborate with software development and product teams.

- Collaborate with documentation specialists to help set up localization processes.

- Encourage teams to adopt localization best practices.

- Test, iterate and document processes.

Profile

❏ Master's degree in localization and/or computer science (ideally software engineering).

❏ Knowledge of languages and cultural nuances. English C1 (preferred) or B2, C1 or native in French. Knowledge of German, Spanish, Dutch or Italian would be a plus.

❏ Knowledge in programming languages (such as C#, Python, Node JS, JavaScript…), XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) and automation tools (such as Zapier, Microsoft Power Automate).

❏ Experience/knowledge of collaborative software platforms such as GitHub.

❏ Familiar with different file formats such as Json, Resx, Properties, YAML, HTML and structured XML.

❏ Good communication skills (written and oral).

❏ A strong operational spirit: you enjoy taking action, getting involved in the field, and experimenting with your colleagues.
