Tyler Union in Anniston, AL offers great opportunities, pay, and benefits in our Foundry Utility positions!

 

Newly hired employees start with a GREAT PAY - Foundry Clean-Up pay rate is $23.04 per hour. Plus, shift differential. This is a hourly position with outstanding benefits offerings, vacation, and holiday pay. Be part of the team! We offer great medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability coverage, a Company-matched 401(K) plan, and ten (10) paid holidays. Employees are eligible for five (40) hours vacation after six (6) months of continuous employment.

 

ALL NEWLY EMPLOYED HOURLY WORKERS MUST HAVE SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE & ATTENDANCE TO SATISFY ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE MANDATORY 480 HOUR PROBATIONARY PERIOD!

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.  Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Operate machinery used in the clean-up process such as sweepers, vacuum trucks, or a skid steer to ensure the clean-up process is completed efficiently.
  • Examine department machinery to verify conformance to cleanliness standards.
  • Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.
  • Operating portable vacuums to ensure shakers, conveyors, and other areas are thoroughly cleaned.
  • Inspect and clean sand mixers throughout the facility.
  • Help production workers perform duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools or cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Clean assigned equipment.
  • Record information, such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.
  • Working in confined space area for clean up and hole watch.
  • Perform any and all cleaning duties as assigned by the maintenance management team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related on-the-job experience required.
  • Previous work experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in lockout tagout training preferred.

  • The physical requirements of this job include moderately heavy lifting/carrying equal to 40 – 50 pounds; frequent carrying or lifting greater than 40 times per hour; bending below the waist; bending at waist occasionally; pushing/pulling maximum weight of 25 pounds un-wheeled; twisting torso as waist; use of fingers; use of both hands; ability to grasp medium with right/left hands; ability to flex/extend right/left hands; ability to do repetitive work with hands; ability to exert medium arm/hand force with right/left hands; ability to wear gloves on right/left hands; ability to use tools with right/left hands; ability to use vibrating tools with right/left hands; standing and walking; moving neck forward/back and turning left/right; ability to work in high temperatures; ability to work in high humidity; ability to work inside/outside, ability to work on slippery, uneven, or unstable surfaces; ability to work around moving machinery; ability to work around dust and fumes; and ability to wear a respirator.
  • Must wear common and job specific protective or safety equipment, including but not limited to safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
