Climate change is causing deep uncertainty at all levels of society, with climate volatility reducing the security of all land-based assets and posing a multi-level security threat for the functioning of enterprises, societies, and governments.

Mitiga is a spinoff of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.

Mitiga's mission is firmly rooted in employing cutting-edge science and technology to mitigate the multifaceted risks posed by climate-driven perils. Our approach spans a spectrum of temporal scales, from real-time and annual forecasts to projections spanning the next century. This comprehensive perspective on risk, coupled with our capacity to transfer risks to capital markets via catastrophe bonds, positions us to significantly contribute to enhanced climate mitigation, resilience, and equity.

Who you are

We’re seeking a seasoned product leader to head up our flagship SaaS product, Earthscan. This role is pivotal in driving product strategy, execution, and growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the climate tech industry, a passion for innovation and start-ups, and a proven track record of delivering and scaling successful SaaS products.

What you’ll do

Product Strategy Management

  • Define and execute the long-term product vision and strategy for all areas of Earthscan

  • Collaborate closely with our CPTO to contribute to the full product development roadmap and GTM strategy against business objectives.

  • Identify market opportunities and translate them into actionable product roadmaps.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Stay abreast of market, competitor and regulatory trends, providing regular updates to the ES and commercial teams.

  • Oversee the entire ES product lifecycle, from ideation & discovery to launch and post-launch support.

  • Prioritize features and functionalities based on user needs and business goals.

  • Work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver high-quality products.

  • Own ES product resource distribution, identification & management, to ensure deliverables against identified timelines.

  • Clearly identify and understand product development cost assessment, working closely with Finance to ensure alignment against the companies budget & forecast.

  • Executive reporting and escalations on product development, challenges & innovation

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of R&D to ensure aligned strategy within product innovation, supporting the R&D with identification of new grants and tenders that can positively contribute to the continued innovation within our products.

  • Develop clear product policies, process’ & procedures to ensure successful results & deliverables

Customer Focus

  • Deeply understand customer needs and pain points, including deep user analysis, sales & retention metrics, user feedback, cost per customer

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing & sales functions to ensure clear client messaging.

  • Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product decisions.

  • Ensure a seamless customer experience.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing product & science team.

  • Ensure clear onboarding, induction and training materials for all new joiners.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in commercial product leadership roles, ideally in the SaaS and climate tech industry

  • Masters (or equivalent) within geospatial or environmental science degree

  • 10+ years of product experience, with at least 5 in hands-on managerial roles

  • 3+ years of experience within successful scale-up / start-up environment

  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies and tools

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams

  • Data-driven decision-making skills

  • Passion for climate technology and sustainability
