Job details

Vibe Coder

Moonvalley is developing cutting-edge generative AI models designed to power Superbowl-worthy commercials and award-winning cinematic experiences. Our inaugural, cutting-edge HD model, Marey, is built on exclusively licensed and owned data for professional use in Hollywood and enterprise applications.

Our team is an unprecedented convergence of talent across industries. Our elite AI scientists from DeepMind, OpenAI, and Meta, have decades of collective experience in machine learning and computational creativity. We have also established the first AI-enabled movie studio in Hollywood, filled with accomplished filmmakers and visionary creative talent. We work with the top producers, actors, and filmmakers in Hollywood as well as creative-driven global brands. So far we’ve raised over $70M from world-class investors including General Catalyst, Bessemer, Khosla Ventures & YCombinator – and we’re just getting started.

What is a Vibe Coder?
A Vibe Coder is a rare breed—a fusion of a Product Manager, Engineer, and UX thinker. You’re the type of person who doesn’t just build features; you design the experience, question the roadmap, and iterate until it just feels right. You think like a founder, execute like a solo operator, and know exactly when to loop in the right people.Let’s redefine how products are built.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building & Shipping: You’ll architect, build, and launch product features end-to-end. No red tape, just execution.

  • Designing with Code: You know how to avoid making ugly things, even if you’re not a designer. UX/UI instincts are a must.

  • User-Centered Engineering: You think about the user constantly. Every decision you make—whether technical or aesthetic—centers on how the user will interact with it.

  • Roadmapping & Decision Making: You’ll be collecting feedback, making roadmap decisions, and implementing features without needing a PM to tell you what to do.

  • Architectural Thinking: You have strong engineering fundamentals and a deep understanding of infrastructure at scale.

  • Working Solo (But Not in a Vacuum): You prefer autonomy and thrive when left to build things yourself, but you also know when to share information and collaborate strategically.

What we're looking for:

  • Anti-Scrum, Anti-Process Overhead: If you have “ifuckinghatejira.com” bookmarked, we get it. You despise pointless meetings and process-heavy environments. You prefer working in a fast-moving, execution-driven startup culture.

  • An Innovator & Persistent Problem Solver: You just want to make things work, no matter what it takes.

  • A Technical Founder (or Close to It): Maybe you were a founding engineer, former founder, or technical co-founder. You’ve built things before—possibly on your own.

  • A Self-Starter: You don’t need hand-holding, structure, or constant oversight. You thrive in chaos and turn ambiguity into action.

  • Deeply Curious About AI & Emerging Tech: You think AI is more than just a buzzword. You’re already experimenting with AI agents, using tools like Cursor, and leveraging AI for code generation and optimization.

  • Startup-First Mindset: You prefer working in a small, fast-moving team where your impact is direct and meaningful.

Tech Stack (Tools Don’t Really Matter, But Here’s What We Like)

  • Languages: TypeScript, Python (for AI)

  • AI-First Development: Cursor, AI-powered agents

  • Strongly Typed Languages Preferred: Because AI works better with them

In our team, we approach our work with the dedication similar to Olympic athletes. Anticipate occasional late nights and weekends dedicated to our mission. We understand this level of commitment may not suit everyone, and we openly communicate this expectation.

If you're motivated by deeply technical problems, a seemingly never-ending uphill battle and the opportunity to build (and own) a generational technology company, we can give you what you're looking for.

All business roles at Moonvalley are hybrid positions by default, with some fully remote depending on the job scope. We meet a few times every year, usually in London, UK or North America (LA, Toronto) as a company.

If you're excited about the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology and help shape the future of media and entertainment, we encourage you to apply. We look forward to hearing from you!
