Software Engineer - Java Full Stack - Analyst

The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Job Overview:

In this role you will collaborate with other senior technical team members and other developers to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative technology solutions. You will interact with various technology, products, and business teams across MUFG.

An ideal candidate is someone who works well with a cohesive team-oriented group of developers, who has a passion for developing great software, who enjoys solving problems in a challenging environment, and who has the desire to take their career to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new code to meet the Business needs of the stories and features.

  • Maintain and enhance existing code to improve our software and minimize technical debt of the platform.

  • Research technical solutions for changing business needs.

  • Ability to work in a process-oriented environment.

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Ensure the final product is highly performant, responsive, and of the highest quality.

  • Actively participate team meetings.

  • High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.

  • Perform complex programming activities in the latest techniques: Java, Node, REST, microservices, Cloud infrastructure (Openshift/AWS), Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins

  • Deliver projects that adhere to continuous delivery practices with automated unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing pipelines

  • Proficiency with object-oriented and functional languages (e.g. Java, J2EE JavaScript)

  • Technical knowledge of analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, and deployment of platform user interface features

Responsibilities:

  • Co-develop project plans with stakeholder leaders, identifying key milestones and deliverables.

  • Schedule and facilitate stakeholder meetings, coordinating project plans and gaining consensus.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required by LOB stakeholders, the TDO and the EPMO.   

  • Produce and distribute status reporting on project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Ensure projects are on time.

  • Conduct project deep-dive meetings with the TDO Program Manager to escalate risk/issues timely.

  • Monitors project spending versus budget. 

  • Develop accurate project spending forecasts each month.

  • Produce project documentation within the required timeframes in accordance with the standards and governance requirements of the IT Project Delivery (ITPD) Methodology, Project Spend and Governance Committee, and TDO guidelines.

  • Work with IT teams to coordinate testing, escalate issues, and assist where necessary to ensure a successful go live.

  • Coordinate the analysis of business problems including making recommendations to management to help identify methods, procedures, and technologies that enhance recommended solutions and project execution.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of application development using Java, J2EE

  • 2+ years of Cloud development using REST APIs and Microservices

  • 1+ years of Spring boot and Spring Integration development experience

  • 1+ years of development experience using SOAP implementation on Cloud

  • 1+ years of development experience on JMS Providers like Apache ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, & RabbitMQ with Spring boot framework integrations and understanding of message queuing concepts and protocols

    • Development/Agile tools experience – BitBucket, ALM, Confluence, Jenkins, GIT.

    • IDE tools – Eclipse, IntelliJ

    • Web Service development experience (REST/JSON, SOAP)

    • Java – Core, Enterprise

    • Spring Framework (for Cloud Native Development)

    • Spring Boot or Spring Cloud

    • SQL Server/Oracle

    • JMeter, JUnit

    • Application Security

    • Micro Services

    • Linux

    • Shell Scripting

    • CI/CD Principles

    • Kubernetes/Openshift

  • Nice to Have:

    • Message Queue

    • ActiveMQ

    • JavaScript (JQuery/React JS)

Other Qualifications:

As per MUFG’s work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely out of Tampa, FL OR Jersey City, NJ office.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $85K - $121K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
