Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Full Time Building Operations Mechanic for our Facilities Management team in Nashville, Tennessee.  

Shift: Full-time Day (7:00am-3:30pm) 

The Building Operations Mechanic participates in the duties of maintaining a variety of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, mechanical and electrical systems for on-site buildings. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.  

Building Operations Mechanic Roles & Responsibilities:  

  • Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. 
  • Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required.
  • Develops, maintains, and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
  • Assists supervisors in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow.

Required Skills & Qualifications:  

  • 5-8 years of related work experience required (working in healthcare preferred)
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Trade school or other work experience. 
  • Being a Building Operations Mechanic works under moderate supervision, has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
