We are seeking a Specialist, Software Engineer for the Innovation Nation line to support Smart Products. The ideal candidate will have:
4+ years of hands-on experience working with Guidewire products, specifically Guidewire Policy Center Version 10+
Understanding of SQL databases, with the ability to write queries.
Knowledge in API integrations using Apigee and Event streaming using Kafka
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS
Proficiency in version control (Git)
Experience in monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic and Splunk
DevOps experience and DevOps tool is a plus (Kubernetes, Github actions, Harness or similar tools)
Experience in Java/Spring Boot/ Microservices is a plus
A solid understanding of web-based security (secure coding practices and coding standards)
Experience with unit testing, code coverage, and best practices
Understanding of Agile methodologies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new technologies

Key Responsibilities:
Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
