Job Description

The AdTech Manager will be the primary stakeholder in implementing and maintaining advertising technology. 

The role will collaborate closely with the Ad Operations team, helping to integrate & support ad tech vendors and publisher partners across the NBCU digital ecosystem. It will support and enhance our advertising technology stack and help identify optimization opportunities to improve our advertising delivery process, reduce latency, and increase monetization.

As part of the Product Development and Platform Integrations team, the AdTech Manager will work to develop and implement new ad products in collaboration with all company stakeholders, including Ad operations, Marketing, Insights, and Sales.

 

Job Duties

  • Manages a variety of projects that includes providing analysis and presenting project plans, scope, and risks
  • Help create product requirements and manage implementation for projects related to the company's ad stacks 
  • Ensures timely communications and educates internal and external stakeholders on tech requirements, development progress, and project timelines
  • Track technical aspects of ad performance to analyze & recommend ad-related product optimizations 
  • Manages Ad Tech stack and platform architecture definition, execution, evolution, and new features
  • Leads Ad Tech stack integrations (DSP, DMP, SSP, ad servers, site analytics) across all brands and properties
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for project issues and/or troubleshooting regarding Ad Tech platform integrations
  • Design and implement Ad Tech improvement plans with Product, Ad Operations teams, and third-party vendors
  • Consult on implementation during the ad vendor/partner review phase 
  • Coordinate ad-related initiatives with vendor/partner technical resources 
  • Test scenario development with the QA team 
  • Design and implement multivariate testing 
  • Troubleshooting ad-related issues that Ad Ops can’t address 
  • Supports contract negotiation with Ad Tech vendors and trains internal teams on new Ad Tech capabilities
  • Closely track industry trends and best practices, including IAB recommendations, standards, and proposed specifications 
  • Creates and maintains reports for executives and stakeholders
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director, Product Development and Platform Integrations, and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of digital product management experience that includes designing, developing, and delivering digital products
  • Deep understanding of web-tracking and ad-tagging technologies 
  • Experience with Google 360 Suite (Google Analytics, GTM, Optimize) 
  • Familiar with Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), Server-Side Ad Insertion projects, and SCTE-35 markers implementation
  • Knowledge of ad servers and digital marketing technology 
  • Knowledge of programmatic sales solutions (DSPs, SSPs, Ad Networks
  • Experience with advertising ecosystem providers such as GAM, Freewheel, Lotame, Moat, AWS Media Taylor, etc.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, preferred

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior experience with application development is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with project management is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a role on a cross-functional team with successful product ownership demonstrating strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and rapidly changing environment 
  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
  • Effective self-starter with the proven ability to manage and deliver business projects effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits passion for digital products, their inner workings, and how people use them
  • Exhibits passion for new media distribution, digital monetization, and keeping up to date with emerging platforms and the latest technology trends

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
