Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Music Business & Legal Affairs (undergrad): The Music Business & Legal Affairs team supports various clients across NBCUniversal, including Sports, Late Night, Specials, Telemundo, News/ Owned Stations, and Scripted/Alt Studios. They are experts in music licensing and administration and help our clients navigate music use within television (everything from research to payments). The role of the Music Business & Legal Affairs intern is to support the overall team – they will gain valuable training and a balanced experience by participating in day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include researching copyright information, creating and updating music cue sheets, databases, tracking grids, and more.
Basic Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026). December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Internship Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026.
Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

Desired Characteristics:
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Strong interest in music and/or transactional work.
Strong interest in the media industry.
Ability to understand music related concepts and contractual language.
Demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize work and deal with different clients simultaneously.
Self-starter, professional, and ability to adapt.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
For Music Business & Legal Affairs: Knowledge of music-related concepts such as PROs, Cue Sheets, and Clearance terminology preferred.
The hourly rate for student interns is $17.50.
