Firmware Engineer Intern

Neuralink is pioneering brain-machine interface technology aimed at restoring human sensory and motor functions. They are seeking a Firmware Engineer Intern to develop and optimize embedded software for robotic surgery applications within a multidisciplinary team focused on innovative medical device implantation.

Skills

Embedded software development
Proficiency with communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C)
Experience with embedded languages such as C, C++, or Rust
Knowledge of embedded toolchains and workflows
Understanding of MCU architectures and peripherals
Electrical schematic interpretation

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize embedded software for robotic surgery applications
Refine and retire legacy embedded codebases
Conduct rigorous testing and validation of software for safety and reliability
Participate in peer code reviews
Write drivers and applications for robotics functionality extension
Specify hardware and software requirements for future platforms
Collaborate and share progress in a multidisciplinary team environment

Education

Science or engineering academic background
Proven project or innovation experience in the field
