Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Sr. Principal Data Scientist and Principal Data Scientist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position requires on-site support in one of the locations; Rancho Bernardo, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Palmdale, CA where technology and teamwork come together. Basic Qualifications:
5 years’ experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters
Strong understanding of JavaScript, SQL, Python, Tableau
Experience in data gathering, cleansing and transformation techniques
Understanding of Agile Software Development
Understanding of Mechanical Engineering Concepts/Theory and Production Operations
Working knowledge of databases (SQL Server, AWS Databases (DynamoDB, RDS, or similar)) and schema
Experience with dashboarding frameworks (Plotly Dash, Panel, Streamlit, Tableau, etc.)
Experience with modeling and normalizing complex data
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Ability to work 1st shift "5:00am-3:30pm" or 2nd shift "4:12pm-2:42am" and any work schedule (times may vary)
Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling
Active Secret clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
