Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer – Launch Systems Integration Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and this role will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Additionally, this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. The Launch Systems Integration (LSI) Lead will provide technical and personnel leadership for internal and external coordination of Space Vehicle readiness, launch campaign, and coordination of resources across multiple contractors and US Government organizations to perform planning for a successful launch capability.
Additional responsibilities may include the following:
-The LSI Lead will plan for and coordinate working groups and rehearsals with the customer in conjunction with the space segment contractors, payload processing facility contractor, launch service provider, and US Government organizations.
-A preferred candidate will have experience with launch systems integration best practices, knowledge of the Standard Interface Specification (SIS) and System Performance Requirements Documents (SPRD), and launch site processing.
-The LSI Lead will define system level launch integration objectives and report technical and programmatic progress to leadership.
-The selected candidate will be the program’s primary point of contact for all activities at the launch site, including payload processing insight.
-The LSI Lead will work with security and information technology to define communications network establishment at the payload processing facility.
-The LSI lead will work in a cross-division team across multiple Northrop Grumman Space Divisions and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 12+ years of experience in engineering OR
-Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 10+ years of experience in engineering OR
-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of experience in engineering
-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret security clearance or above at time of application and prior to start date
-Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain SCI and PAR approval and access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree or PhD in a STEM discipline
-Strong communication skills, including the willingness and comfortability to present in front of large groups
-Knowledge of Launch Systems Integration processes
-Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes
-Ability to proficiently use tools such as: MS Project, Power Point, Excel, Jira, DOORS

Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
