Faculty Developer (full-time/1950 hours/year/LTE) @ Any Northwood Tech Campus Location

Overview

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, Limited Term Employment (LTE) Faculty Developer position. This grant-funded opportunity is available at any of our four campus locations: Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake, or Superior. This position is full-time and will run through June 30, 2026.

The Faculty Developer is responsible for supporting and enhancing the professional development of faculty members in an educational institution. This role involves collaborating with faculty, administrators, and instructional designers to design, implement, and evaluate faculty development programs and initiatives. The Faculty Developer helps faculty members enhance their teaching skills, integrate technology into their instructional practices, and stay updated with the latest pedagogical strategies and trends. This position plays a crucial role in promoting effective teaching, student engagement, and academic excellence across the institution.

• Collaborate with faculty members, administrators, and instructional designers to identify faculty development needs and design appropriate programs and initiatives.
• Conduct needs assessments and surveys to gather feedback from faculty regarding their professional development requirements.
• Develop and deliver engaging workshops, seminars, and training sessions on effective teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, educational technology, and other relevant topics.
• Provide individualized coaching and mentoring to faculty members to support their professional growth and enhance their teaching effectiveness.
• Stay updated with current research, trends, and best practices in teaching and learning, and share relevant information with faculty members through various channels, such as newsletters, websites, or online communities.
• Collaborate with instructional designers to integrate technology tools, learning management systems, and other digital resources into faculty members' instructional practices.
• Support faculty members in designing and developing online and blended courses, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, effective use of multimedia, and engaging student experiences.
• Facilitate faculty communities of practice or learning communities to foster collaboration, idea sharing, and peer-to-peer learning among faculty members.
• Conduct formative and summative evaluations of faculty development programs and initiatives, collect data, and provide reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and learning, such as conducting research, publishing articles, or presenting at conferences, to contribute to the field of faculty development.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

• Master's or doctoral degree in education, instructional design, or a related field
• A minimum of five years’ experience in faculty development or teaching at the postsecondary level

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of current pedagogical trends, teaching strategies, and learning theories
• Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with faculty members, administrators, and instructional designers
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills to deliver engaging workshops and training sessions
• Ability to analyze needs, gather feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of faculty development programs
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• A passion for teaching and learning and a commitment to ongoing professional development

Preferred:

• Research experience or scholarly contributions in the field of teaching and learning

Salary

FY25 Salary - Grade L - $63,628 / year
