Software Engineer, Enterprise Data Platform

Notion is growing fast and seeks a Software Engineer for their Data Platform team to build scalable enterprise solutions that meet rigorous security and compliance requirements. The role focuses on advanced data platform development supporting Fortune 500 companies and involves close collaboration with the Security team.

Skills

5+ years experience building data platforms for enterprise SaaS applications
Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala or Typescript; SQL is a plus
Experience with modern data processing frameworks and distributed systems
Knowledge of data catalog and metadata management systems
Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements
Experience with data quality monitoring and management
Familiarity with enterprise data integration patterns
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB

Responsibilities

Design scalable data integration pipelines connecting Notion to enterprise environments with strict privacy standards
Build and maintain metadata management and data catalog systems for enterprise data governance
Implement robust data quality monitoring systems ensuring reliability of data assets
Develop data lifecycle frameworks meeting enterprise retention policies and compliance
Support Enterprise Key Management (EKM) integration and collaborate with the Security team
Enable data residency controls for global enterprise customers
Create audit trail systems for enterprise compliance requirements
Optimize performance for large-scale enterprise data operations servicing 20k+ users
Support AI and knowledge management infrastructure for enterprise use cases

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
