Senior Design Manager

O2EPCM, Inc. is an award-winning firm specializing in professional, technical, consulting, and management services within the planning, design, engineering, and construction industry. They are seeking a Senior Design Manager to oversee multiple design projects, lead a team of professionals, and ensure compliance with functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.

Skills

Project management of design and capital projects in construction.
Strong communication—written and verbal.
Coordination with multiple stakeholders including architects and district personnel.
Budgeting and cost control in design projects.
Knowledge of seismic and critical repair design standards.
Design review and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple seismic, critical repair, and retrofit projects concurrently.
Supervise and lead a team of design professionals through the design review process.
Develop and coordinate design processes ensuring adherence to program, budget, and legal standards.
Collaborate with architects, consultants, and district personnel for timely project completion.
Ensure building designs comply with LAUSD standards and educational requirements.
Select architectural firms based on qualifications and performance standards.
Provide clear direction to architects on goals, standards, schedules, and budgets.
Implement efficient design review processes meeting project objectives.
Ensure projects deliver maximum value while meeting functional needs.
Review design changes to maintain budget compliance.
Monitor project planning and design status, reporting findings and recommendations.
Perform other assigned duties.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from a recognized university.
