About Us:
The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, Ⓤ, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager will lead the implementation of NetSuite at the Orthodox Union. The Project Manager will manage all phases of the implementation, from initial planning through go-live and post-implementation support. This role involves developing and executing project plans while overseeing deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness. Coordination with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors is essential to ensure alignment and timely execution of project tasks. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders is required to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement. The Project Manager will report to the Director of Accounting and dotted line to the CIO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Provide regular updates to senior management, including progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, presentations, and training sessions to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Identify potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Propose technical solutions and/or improvements to business processes to meet user and organizational needs
- Manage project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, approvals, and reporting.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure that project deadlines are met within budget constraints.
- Manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, coordinating testing activities and tracking defect resolution.
- Oversee the development of test plans, scripts, and scenarios to ensure that the NetSuite system meets all business requirements.
- Develop and execute a change management strategy to ensure a smooth transition to the new ERP system.
- Coordinate go-live activities, ensuring all systems are operational and the business is prepared for the transition.
- Provide post-implementation support to address any issues and ensure that the system is functioning as intended.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on NetSuite ERP implementations.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address project challenges.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- NetSuite certification is a plus
- Familiarity with nonprofits is a plus
- On-site in NYC twice a week
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $150,000, commensurate with experience
