Algorithm System Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Systems Engineer - Modeling and Algorithms.  This role works at a high-visibility level on design and digital simulation testing and oversees algorithm and model/simulation development efforts.  This position is full time onsite.

 

What you'll do:

• Conducts research in design, testing, and utilization of software and data processing algorithms/high fidelity models used in ASE products
• Works with vendors to understand algorithm design, implementation, and testability
• Provide feedback to vendors on algorithm design and implantation
• Liaison with outside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on algorithm and product performance
• Able to understand and execute a Digital System Model (DSM) and other simulations
• Understanding of performance requirements and system capabilities
• Supports validation and verification of performance requirements using DSM or other simulation and modeling tools
• Works with test team to validate and understand field data using a DSM and simulations
• Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design
• Review vendor algorithm design and deliverables
• Create, maintain, and review Algorithm Description Documentation (ADD)
• Create scripts and tools to automate or assist in testing (e.g., modifications to the DSM or other test tools)
• Understand machine learning (ML) concepts, methodologies, and implementations

Qualifications

What you'll need:

 Education:  Minimum of 5years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA

• Clearance: Active Secret clearance
• Understand a DSM or simulation creation, execution, and use in system performance modelling
• Have knowledge of ML methodologies and implementation
• Be able to work in a dynamic team environment while balancing various priority tasks
• Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
• Understand and be fluent in C, C++, and Python
• Be able to work from the customer facility on a regular basis 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office is a plus.
• Software or systems design for DoD systems is a plus
• Have a background in modeling, simulation, algorithm design or test, data science/analysis, or machine learning

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
