Tech Lead - AI Acceleration

Perplexity is an AI-powered answer engine rapidly growing as a leading AI platform. They seek a creative and energetic Tech Lead to spearhead their AI Acceleration team, combining technical leadership with AI product development and process engineering to leverage frontier AI capabilities for maximum velocity.

Skills

Proficiency in Python and working fluency in Typescript.
Strong intuition and daily use of AI models and tools.
Broad understanding of AI product and applied research technology stacks.
Strong technical judgment in infrastructure/platform engineering and developer acceleration.
Empathy for technical and business workflows across disciplines.
Ability to navigate exploration-exploitation tradeoffs effectively.

Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities to accelerate delivery using frontier AI capabilities.
Collaborate across technical and business teams to harness AI effectively.
Improve codebases, systems, and knowledge stores for AI legibility.
Balance quality and velocity with AI tools and agents to shift performance frontiers.
Stay current with AI tools/models and set an example company-wide.
Make strategic technology decisions to capitalize on high conviction opportunities.
Champion an AI-forward culture through leadership and recruiting.
Build prototypes and production systems, and reengineer infrastructure and processes.

Education

Equivalent experience reflecting six or more years in relevant tech roles.
