Freelancer/Contractor

TL;DR

🤓 We are looking for someone with experience in and passion for HR Management/People Operations, to help us scale our team from 90 - 150 people in 2025! People Operations at Photoroom is pragmatic, employee-focused, and always looking for ways to help the business improve and move faster.

As our new People Ops Specialist, you make sure that many of our People processes are friction-free, enable our people to succeed, and help the company scale. We have an existing team in place, and alongside Talent, Office, Events, DEI, and Finance colleagues, you also join our people Ops Lead Mikaila and Head of people Mikael.

🇪🇺 We are flexible: most of our team is remote across Europe and North America, but we also have an awesome office in Paris. You will be an important part of onboarding new Photoroomers so during our onboarding weeks (1-2 times a month), you'll be in the office 5 days a week. Other weeks, we expect you 2 days a week in the office on average but it depends on what projects you're working on.

✨ About the role ✨

  • As we hire 60+ people in 2025, you will play an important part in making sure our onboarding is running smoothly by supporting on contracts, relocation, immigration, and travel. We will rely on you to help welcome new people and IT+Admin onboarding too.

  • You are the first touchpoint for questions about our policies, HR systems or other questions from our colleagues via our #hr_help Slack channel

  • You will help us scale our unique culture through every touchpoint with your colleagues and your work.

  • You have knowledge and experience with immigration and employment law in France.

  • You are experienced and comfortable managing various employment contracts, from permanent CDIs to EORs (Deel) to independent contractors/freelancers.

  • You ensure we get the most value from People tools and systems, e.g. Deel, Hibob, Travelperk and more - finding creative ways to automate low-value tasks and connect Photoroomers to relevant resources.

  • You handle our benefits, like Alan health insurance, Moka Care and ClassPass, and ensure your colleagues know how to use and get the most out of them.

  • You contribute to creating and updating policies that help us scale without slowing us down. You also support in maintaining our global internal employee handbook - ensuring 100% accuracy of discoverable information

  • You handle the onboarding/offboarding, manage and purchase IT equipment & own the onboarding coordination to make new Photoroomers feel welcome and set them up for success

✨ About you ✨

  • You have worked in similar roles and have the confidence to answer questions about French immigration, contracts, and basic employment law questions. You might have been in HR/People roles for 3+ years, but we appreciate that people learn at different paces.

  • You have strong written and spoken English, French, and are comfortable talking about HR topics to non-French speaking colleagues

  • You are confident using new tools and technology to help you work faster and more efficiently, bonus points if you have used Hibob and Deel extensively

  • You are detail-oriented and organised, with concrete ways to manage multiple processes and deadlines without losing track of the bigger picture.

  • You have a track record of a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and are not afraid to take initiative when identifying and implementing improvements to People processes
