Manager, Data Infrastructure

Recursion is a clinical-stage TechBio company combining technology and biology to industrialize drug discovery. They seek a Manager for Data Infrastructure to lead a team responsible for building and scaling data platforms that handle vast experimental and patient data, fostering collaboration between tech, science, and business groups.

Skills

Strong technical expertise in data infrastructure and platform engineering
Leadership skills to manage and grow a team of data engineers
Experience with cloud platforms and modern data stack tools such as Python, BigQuery, Postgres, dbt, and GCP
Ability to work cross-functionally between technical, scientific, and business teams
Strong communication and mentoring capabilities

Responsibilities

Lead and standardize processes for data access and analysis across the organization
Build and operate scalable data platforms supporting biology, chemistry, and clinical data
Mentor, coach, and sponsor data engineers to foster growth and technical excellence
Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into technical solutions
Promote a data-driven culture leveraging company-wide datasets and metrics

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (typical requirement)
