Navigation Hardware Development Engineer

Relativity Space is a pioneering aerospace company developing the Terran R launch vehicle to meet growing launch demands and advance space exploration. They are seeking a Navigation Hardware Development Engineer to lead the design, testing, and integration of navigation avionics systems critical to vehicle recovery and reuse.

Skills

Strong background in navigation system electronics design
Experience integrating GNSS receivers and inertial measurement sensors
Knowledge of PVT calculation, satellite tracking, and error sources in GNSS
Understanding of IMU principles, gyroscope and accelerometer error characteristics
Hardware bring-up, validation, debugging and data analysis skills
Cross-functional collaboration experience

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and integrate navigation system avionics for the Terran R launch vehicle
Conduct architectural trade studies and develop acceptance and qualification test plans
Collaborate across cross-functional teams including GNC, mechanical, electrical, and software
Serve as subject matter expert on navigation sensor suite and operational requirements
Ensure reliable performance of navigation hardware enabling landing, recovery, and reuse of booster stage

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
