Rent Collector (Real Estate Industry)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rent Collector to join our remote team specializing in the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting rent payments from tenants and ensuring prompt resolution of any payment issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Rent Collection: Initiate and follow up on rent payment reminders, ensuring tenants are aware of their payment due dates.
  2. Communication: Engage with tenants via phone, email, or messaging platforms to discuss payment issues, establish payment plans, and provide assistance when needed.
  3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all rent payments, payment plans, and communication logs in our property management system.
  4. Dispute Resolution: Work collaboratively with tenants to resolve any disputes or questions related to their rent payments or leases.
  5. Reporting: Provide regular updates to management regarding outstanding payments, collection efforts, and tenant interactions.
  6. Compliance: Ensure that all collection processes adhere to legal requirements and company policies.
  • Previous experience in rent collection, property management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.
  • Proficiency in property management software or databases (e.g., Buildium, AppFolio) is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with tenants.
  • Knowledge of rental laws and regulations in the applicable market.
