Sr. Product Manager

As a Senior Product Manager you will be expected to take on a leadership role amongst our team and your peers. This comes in many forms, but most critically, it is best represented in how you lead our more strategic, complex product initiatives and the stakeholders that operate within. This role needs to work closely with senior and all stakeholders to guide the broader product and development teams through our defined processes that deliver on these strategic initiatives.

Let's break down the day-to-day a little further:   
 
Product Strategy (30%)
Measures of Success:  Assigned capabilities have a defined vision | Vision is communicated and well understood by the business and customers | Execution over time is realized (efficiency in delivery, success criteria realized via defined metrics) | roadmaps are in place.
  • Participate in the high-level ideation and development of strategic business solutions for our platform.
  • Contribute to Capability vision and roadmap. This includes the broader key capabilities definition, vision creation, and continued curation over extended periods.
  • Lead and continued curation of vision for strategic initiatives and capabilities within our platform. Understand business and customer needs, propose vision and solution, obtain stakeholder buy in, build execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain a dedicated roadmap for strategic initiatives and capabilities within our platform.
  • Help shape the Core Platform product roadmap by incorporating the owned strategic initiative and/or capability into the broader annual roadmap. A strong understanding of scope and effort to deliver must be in place.
  • Define an execution plan for strategic initiative and/or capability. Break it down into deliverables the team can consume and execute on.
  • Lead strategic platform initiatives through our Dual Track process.
  • Establish success criteria for key initiatives (short and long term) that correlate to the OKR structure within our business.
  • Establish and track key metrics for initiatives to better understand success over time.
  • Work closely with Dev Architects to understand how to plan and execute on the vision over time.
  • Participate in and understand the broader roadmap and deliverables within. Draw connections across initiatives that carry impact

Product Management (40%)
Measures of success: Development team is well supported | efficiency in deliver | features are tracked | ProductBoard owned roadmaps are well maintained and represents vision | communication and education of deliverables are in place.

  • Maintain and communicate Product Roadmap capability/strategic initiatives with input from across the organization to ensure alignment to organization priorities.
  • Provide Roadmap visibility, changes, recent activity to Senior Management through regular meetings and reporting.
  • Develops a strong understanding of our product and the customers it serves.
  • Work with other Product Managers and Designers to determine optimal solutions for new product initiatives and features as set out on the road map.
  • Have a strong influence on release plans to ensure appropriate time is available for development and testing of feature requirements.
  • Ensures product features are well documented in line with product requirements and actual product usage.
  • Internal Evangelist for new product features demonstrating their function and how they work to product stakeholders.
  • Educate and support the Services and Support team on how to support and build customer solutions for owned capabilities or initiatives.
  • Be point of escalation for customer concerns and internal enquires related to customers for owned capabilities or initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to assist Marketing and Product Marketing in generating the messaging and positioning for both user and buyer personas.
  • Monitors feature uptake, usage, and metrics to ensure the feature is delivering the desired outcome for the customer and the business. 

Process development & execution, team building (25%)
Measures of success: Product, Dev and QE teams are effectively collaborating and delivering great software in a timely fashion | Process continues to evolve as the team and company grows.

  • Promote, lead, and champion of our process.
  • Build healthy team dynamics via our process that drives strong product outputs and deliverables.
  • Indirectly coach and support APM development via defined product process (needs discussion with Allie).
  • Communicate and collaborate with Dev Leads to ensure the product process is being followed and that features are being delivered efficiently and to adequate standards.
Qualifications and Education
  • 5+ Years product experience
  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline.
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certified or Product Institute training is an asset.
  • Genuine empathy and sincerity for our customers.
  • Demonstrated success in managing strategic customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt.
  • Metrics driven with an ability to demonstrate product success using key performance indicators.
  • Occasional travel may be required
