Apex Fintech Solutions - Application Security Engineer, application via RippleMatch

Apex Fintech Solutions seeks an experienced Application Security Engineer to lead security initiatives across application, cloud, and infrastructure layers. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture through automation, secure design, and compliance.

Skills

Knowledge of application, cloud, and infrastructure security
Proficiency in DevSecOps practices and source control management (GitHub, Bitbucket)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and OPA
Understanding of cloud service models including containers, virtual infrastructure, and networks
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, SOC2, ISO 27001, OWASP, MITRE, CVSS
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent documentation and project management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

Responsibilities

Act as SME for security tools including threat detection, cloud security, application security, IAM, and security logging technologies
Monitor cloud and data center infrastructure to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Investigate security events and participate in incident response
Collaborate with engineering teams on security standards and best practices
Conduct security assessments and penetration tests
Create and maintain security documentation and architecture diagrams
Architect and implement security solutions independently
Provide mentoring and technical expertise within the team
Lead product ownership, roadmap, and sprint planning using agile and kanban
Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards
Develop automation scripts for security detection and remediation
Recommend and implement new security technologies and policies
Participate in audits to maintain security certifications and frameworks

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience
