QA Program Manager – Banking Systems

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Banking Systems Quality Assurance Manager to lead the development and oversight of a robust enterprise QA function. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, stability, and integrity of our banking systems, with a primary focus on FIS applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in test planning, scripting, execution, and team leadership across both system and user testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and manage a comprehensive QA program for enterprise-wide banking systems.
  • Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts for system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations.
  • Oversee all phases of testing including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with business units, IT developers, project managers, and third-party vendors to ensure testing coverage and quality standards are met.
  • Lead QA initiatives for FIS core and ancillary banking systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Identify QA tools and frameworks to support automation and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and track QA metrics, including defect tracking, coverage, and performance reporting.
  • Train and mentor internal staff on QA best practices and tools.
  • Continuously improve QA processes in line with industry standards and bank growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with FIS banking systems (e.g., Horizon, IBS, Core Banking Platforms).
  • Expertise in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and managing unit and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Proven experience establishing or scaling a QA function in a financial institution.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management in the banking industry.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with QA tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail, or similar platforms preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a community or regional bank setting.
  • Understanding of Agile and/or Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
