Data Annotator

About the Role

We’re looking for our first Data Annotator to join us and support the development of our world-class speech and language models. As a Data Annotator at Salient, you will work closely with our research and engineering teams to label, curate, and audit datasets that directly impact the performance of our production systems. You’ll help ensure that the raw data used to train our models is clean, consistent, and richly annotated. This is a foundational role that enables the development of robust, real-world AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and validate audio, text, and metadata across various TTS and NLP datasets

• Follow detailed guidelines to ensure consistent labeling across large-scale datasets

• Identify patterns in the data to flag anomalies, edge cases, or inconsistencies

• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to refine annotation schemas and workflows

• Support the creation of custom datasets for multilingual and voice-focused projects

Requirements

• Two + years experience annotating speech and audio data

• Exposure to machine learning, NLP, or speech synthesis projects

• Ability to work 4 days per week in our San Francisco Office

• Highly detail oriented and inquisitive

• Advanced Spanish Language skills
