Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our data governance, data engineering, data lake, analytics, and AI platforms. This role will set the technical vision, define target architecture, and ensure alignment with business and technical strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data architecture, analytics, and AI, and is adept at collaborating with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Vision:

• Develop and articulate the evolving target architecture, high-level design, and strategic roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment with overarching business and technical strategies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives, and implement architecture that supports these aims.

Architectural Alignment:

• Conduct architecture reviews to maintain consistency across teams and manage technology dependencies.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure the architecture meets overall requirements.
• Foster collaboration across different architecture domains to ensure coherence and uniformity.

Standards Implementation:

• Evaluate and approve technical designs, ensuring they adhere to established standards and enhance engineering resilience.
• Provide guidance on best practices for new or evolving solutions.
• Address risks and manage technical debt when systems deviate from standards.

Continuous Improvement:

• Partner with teams to share insights and best practices, continuously enhancing architectural health.
• Offer constructive feedback to teams to refine their processes.
• Strive to improve operational uptime while reducing costs and risks over time.

AI/Agentic Solutions:

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance data analytics and decision-making processes.
• Integrate agentic models into data platforms to automate and optimize workflows.
• Collaborate with AI teams to ensure seamless integration of AI models and solutions into the architecture.
• Stay updated with advancements in AI and agentic technologies, proposing innovative solutions to improve system capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics, and AI.
• Strong knowledge in data governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, and Informatica.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable data ecosystems.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as Python, SQL, Spark, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience in developing and integrating AI models and agentic solutions.
• Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers while driving adoption of best practices.

Compensation & Benefits Details

• An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
• The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
• You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Sandisk's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
